Cinere – The skincare products that I have been using this month

As most of you will already know I love trying new skincare products. I first came across the Cinere brand a while ago when I received a PR package which included a sample of their eye make up remover. I really liked this product and I’ve been using it ever since. So when Cinere contacted me to ask me to try out a few more items from their skincare range you can imagine how excited I was!

About the brand..

Cinere is a skincare brand that focuses on natural products made using only pure ingredients, herbal extracts, essential oils and other natural therapeutic elements. As a company they are passionate about quality and the science behind how their products are made.

The Products..

Gentle eye make up remover

I tend to use a lot of eye make up products from dark shadows, to eye liners, glitters and full length mascaras. To remove these, it’s important that I use a product that is gentle around the delicate eye area. This is why I personally prefer a liquid based eye make up remover than a cream, so I was really impressed with this product. It removes all traces of stubborn eye make up and feels lovely and cooling on the eyes. There is nothing better than that after a long day and when you are feeing tired. This formula doesn’t feel sticky or oily either which I have found with some liquid eye make up removers I’ve previously tried.

The main features of this eye make up remover that I like are below:

  • Gentle and non allergenic formula
  • Removes all traces of makeup including waterproof mascara
  • Conditions the eye lashes and hydrates the delicate skin around the eyes
  • The skin feels revived, refreshed, soft and clean after using it.
  • It’s safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers

100% natural cleansing milk

This is a very gentle cleanser which is a milky consistency. This is slightly different to the cream cleansers that I usually tend to use so it was interesting to try something slightly different. It feels very light and smooth to touch and is a milk and gel combination formula. As with all cleansers, this rids the skin of oil, dirt and make up residue without stripping it of any natural oils. I apply this to my face with my hands and massage it into the skin. I then remove this afterwards by using a warm cloth and lightly buffing in a circular motion.

The main features of this cleanser that I like are below:

  • It’s non allergenic and alcohol free
  • Helps to keep the skin hydrated
  • Leaves the skin soft and smooth after use.
  • This has a pump applicator which is so handy to use.

Herbal Energising Cleansing Toner

Using a toner after cleansing is a really important part of your skincare routine. It helps to remove any left over oil, dirt or make up that you might have missed during cleansing. It also feels really cooling on the skin which I like. and you feel really fresh and clean afterwards. This product is soap free and can be used as part of your daily skincare routine. It is also a good way to prepare the skin before you apply your moisturiser.

This toner helps to lift dead skin cells which is great for reducing any dry skin patches. I have really enjoyed using this toner after cleansing my face and my skin feels really soft and clear at the moment. A nice smooth skin base is exactly what you want and really improves that way make up sits on your skin.

The main advantages of this toner that I like are below:

  • It conditions, nourishes, hydrates and protects whilst providing a softening and soothing effect on the skin.
  • My skin looks brighter and feels more refreshed from using this over the last few weeks.
  • It gently dissolves makeup and excess oil without drying the skin.
  • This product is infused with Lavender and Chamomile.

Hydra Plus, Timeless moisturising cream

At this time of the year, my skin tends to get quite dry, so I always like to use a hydrating moisturiser to help combat this issue. I have been enjoying using this product this month as it has kept my skin feeling silky and velvety in texture. It isn’t sticky either which always puts me off with a moisturiser. This product contains Argan oil and those of you who like your skincare will know that this is perfect for rehydrating dry skin and giving you a radiant complexion.

Again, this comes with a pump applicator which makes using this so much easier.

The main advantages of this toner that I like are below:

  • Regenerates and hydrates skin for a radiant appearance
  • Contains natural moisturising ingredients
  • It soothes, softens and hydrates dry, tired skin
  • Suitable for dry/normal skin

Final thoughts..

I always like to try new skincare products for a few weeks before I can really tell if they have worked for me or not. I have enjoyed using these products and my favourite items from the range are the toner and the eye make up remover. When it comes to cleansers I’m quite fussy and I already have a firm favourite brand that I like to use. I would say if you tend to wear a fuller face of make up like I do, that this might not be the cleanser for you. However, the toner is fantastic for that second stage of your routine and I really recommend trying this out. my skin feels great after using this on a daily basis.

See all of the best looks from the SS19 Moschino runway show

Moschino is one of the runway shows that I look forward to the most and the SS19 show was incredible! Jeremy Scott has created a fabulous collection for the future season. All of the designs looked like they were straight from his sketch pad, with a nod to 80s styling and featuring colourful brush strokes in bright, fresh colours.

The invitation..

The invitation for the show was a box of felt tip pens in a selection of rainbow colours. This was the first clue of what was about to come and what the designer had in store for everyone. The show began and the crowd could hear a telephone call between Jeremy Scott and Gigi Hadid. He was telling her that the show was about to start and that he only had his sketches with him.

Scribbles and sketches..

The models started walking down the runway dressed in sharp cut jackets, pencil skirt suits, shifts, cocktail dresses and the whole collection was fabulously lady like and chic. The majority of the outfits were white fabric, on which felt tip scribbles made each design individual. I get such Pretty Woman vibes from this collection – especially the scenes where she has been shopping and she’s had a style makeover with chic skirt suits and hats.

Sassy Accessories..

Moschino have always had cool and quirky accessories and this collection was no different. Bella and Gigi Hadid wore wide brimmed hats angled on the side of their heads elegantly. Structured, feminine handbags, also covered in scribbles made their way down the catwalk and scribbled on tights to complete the looks. Kendall Jenner was also part of the show and carried a large bottle of Moschino perfume.

Gigi the bride..

No catwalk show is ever complete without the traditional final bridal look and Gigi Hadid closed the show, in a puffball dress and a bunch of flowers. Body stocking clad men carried her long train behind while butterflies flittered above her. It was a fabulous fairytail ending to such an amazing show.

What was your favourite look from the collection? I cannot wait for the accessories to launch in store so I can get involved with this trend. Here are a couple of items on my wish list:

Alya Skin – The pink clay mask that everyone is talking about

Alya Skin is a brand that you will have heard about recently as they have become Insta-famous! Their pink clay mask has a cult following, and become a real beauty favourite. They very kindly sent this to me to try so I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

About the brand..

Alya Skin are an Australian company that specialise in skincare. The first thing that caught my attention about them was their pretty pink packaging. All of their products are completely vegan and made with natural ingredients which is also a big tick in the book for me. They produce a range of skincare from moisturisers, to exfoliators and of course this pink clay mask that has everyone talking at the moment.

The Benefits..

I haven’t used a mask for a few years so it was time to get them back into my skincare routine. This mask can be used weekly to create a smoother, softer and healthier looking complexion. I have had a few break outs recently and have found that this product has really helped to reduce this and rebalance my skin. It is a great way to detoxify and brighten up the skin too. To summarise, here are the main benefit check points of this product:

  • Detoxifies & Brightens your skin
  • Safe for sensitive skin types
  • Tightens your skin’s pores
  • Extracts pollutants and nasties from your skin
  • Assists in the removal of acne and pimples
  • Vegan & cruelty free

Application..

Applying this mask literally couldn’t be any easier. I used a soft bristle brush and painted the formula directly onto my face, avoiding the eye area and lips. The mask is a lovely creamy texture and I like the cooling sensation as you apply it onto the skin. It is tricky to determine the scent of this and its not my favourite. I would have loved it to have been a as a sweet or fruity smell but that’s not really an important factor as I would much rather get results from a product than it looking/smelling like perfection but it doesn’t do the job it’s supposed to.

Sit back and wait..

Once the mask has been applied onto the skin all you need to do is sit back and let the magic happen! I left this on for around 10 minutes and in that time it dries right down and turns a white colour. You face will feel slightly stiff once it is completely dried but it doesn’t crumble which I like, as there’s nothing worse than a mask that starts crumbling off your face. To remove the mask, I used a warm face cloth gently wiping it away in circular movements.

I have been adding a moisturiser onto my skin after I have used this clay mask and instantly I can feel the difference. The breakouts I had dried up and reduced and my face felt gloriously smooth and clear. I will definitely continue to use this in my weekly skin care routine and I can say that it lived up to the hype also.

You can purchase the Alya skin care range HERE. Check out their website for their other products to. I think I am going to try the exfoliator next.

Myza – the go to store for getting a fabulous night sleep

We spend around one third of our lives sleeping and it’s one of the most important things for maintaining our health and wellbeing. I’m one of those people that needs a full 8 hours a night to be able to function properly. As soon as I come home from work, I am straight into my pyjamas. I feel that it’s important to relax as much as possible in the evening ready for a good nights sleep. There is literally nothing nicer than treating yourself to a brand new luxury set of nightwear or loungewear. And isn’t it just the best feeling when you stay in a boutique hotel and there is a fluffy dressing gown waiting for you! This is really easy to recreate that little bit of luxury in your own home for every day.

I recently came across the website Myza and they specialise in gorgeous products that are all designed for creating a lovely relaxing sleep. Just looking through the website makes me feel chilled out! There is something for everyone on here, whether its a treat for yourself or a beautiful gift for someone else. If you know someone who has been stressed out lately or perhaps a pregnant friend or someone who has been having trouble sleeping, what a thoughtful gift that would be to make a little package of items to help them relax better!

Nightwear

There are some really pretty Pyjama sets and gorgeous cosy dressing gowns to choose from by various designers. I particularly like the Nightire collection as the bold prints and designs are just my kind of style. There are classic pyjama outfits as well as cute little short versions and so you have an option for if it is warmer or for a colder time of the year. If you want something really luxurious though, there is also a beautiful silk range by the brand Ronja which is really chic.

Body Products

What better way to relax before going to sleep than having a relaxing pampering session? You guys know me and I love skincare and body products and I’m impressed by the varied selection on Myza. There are a variety of brands with products ranging from face masks, soothing body oils, lotions and creams.  Again, there is a great section to choose beautiful gifts in this section. I particularly like the 1001 remedies set which you can find HERE.

The majority of the beauty products contain natural ingredients that help to aid a relaxing experience which sounds heavenly.

Cosy Homewear

Of course the other best way to relax is with beautiful bedding and cosy comforting linens or pillows. Especially now we are moving into the colder seasons, you cannot beat lovely warm blankets to curl up in and watch a good Netflix series or two! I love buying things for my home so this is a really nice way to get something functional that also looks good and accessorises your bedroom or lounge.

Accessories

If you just want to try out a little item as a treat then there are a lot of really lovely accessories to choose from. I absolutely love the eye masks I am going to have to get one of these for myself. They are made from 100% silk which will feel beautiful and cool against the delicate eye area. Also it’s well known that silk helps to reduce the pulling of the skin, which in turn helps to reduce the creation of wrinkles. This particular accessory would also be fabulous for a flight or long train journey somewhere.

I am also really intrigued by the selection of relaxing teas. I can just imagine having one of these in the evening with a nice book before settling down for a gorgeous relaxing sleep. Divine.

What are your favourite products to use when you want to relax or have a good pampering session? Leave a comment below as I would love to hear about them!

The new AW18 handbags I’m loving by Smith & Canova

There’s something so nice about a brand new handbag. That fresh leather smell, that perfectly smooth material and that beautiful clean interior waiting to be used. The way I feel about handbags is a bit like how some people feel about buying a new car. A quality bag is an investment, something you will get a lot of use out of and something you will enjoy using all the time. I recently came across the brand Smith and Canova and I’m so pleased that I did! They are a UK based company that specialise in leather handbags and accessories for both men and women. So as you can imagine, they instantly caught my attention.

Style and quality

The Smith and Canova family have been in the leather handbag industry for over 100 years so they know a thing or two when it comes to quality. Whenever I look for a new bag I always look for a few key features and these are my top tips of things to look out for:

  • Hardware – try to avoid plastic coated buckles or rivets as these will not be very long lasting and will start to cheapen the look of your handbag. Instead, look for styles that have solid metal hardware. If these are engraved with the brand name this is even better.
  • Zips similar to hardware, I always like to ensure my handbag has a good quality zip. A sturdy zip will lengthen the lifespan of your handbag.
  • Logos choose bags that have an embossed foil logo as these will not scratch off easily.
  • Stitching pay attention to the stitching. Avoid bags with loose threads or messy, unfinished stitches. One of the reasons that Hermes Birkin bags in particular are so expensive is because they are handcrafted using a single thread. The slightest snag in the thread and they re-start the production of the whole bag.
  • Material – this is probably the most important factor when buying a new bag. You will always be able to tell real leather by the smell and the feel of it. I just love buttery soft leathers that get better with age.
  • Dust bag finally, it is important to protect your handbag when it’s not being used and a dust bag is for this very purpose. If your handbag comes with one of these, then you know you have a quality item.

Josephine Satchel

Smith and Canova very kindly sent me the Josephine satchel from their AW18 collection to try and as soon as I saw this handbag I fell in love! You can instantly feel the craftsmanship and quality of this piece. The handbag arrived in a stunning box with an embossed rose gold logo which was lined with tissue paper. Such a sophisticated little detail that makes you instantly feel special! The bag itself was stored inside its own little dust bag which will be a great way to keep it safe and in the best possible condition.

Features

This style has a long handle so you can wear this across your body as well as on the shoulder. The strap is adjustable too which I love as it means you can have it the perfect length just for you. The front is a flap over style which makes it so much easier to get inside quickly. This is perfect for someone like me that is always on the go and travelling around a lot. The flap over is secured by magnetic poppers and inside there are two main compartments. I have been using these for larger items such as my purse and a mini make up bag.

There are also 2 slip pockets and an inner zip compartment. I have been using these for smaller items such as my travel card and keys which I want to keep safely secured.

For a satchel this is a really nice size. It is not too large that it overshadows your outfit but it is roomy enough to hold all of your bits and bobs. This particular style is available in a pretty baby pink colour also. However, this grey version goes with so many outfits and is a lot easier to style with all of the Autumn trends that are out there at the moment.  You can read about the key trends for the season in my recent blog post HERE.

Smith and Canova have some really gorgeous designs so check out their website HERE

Overall I was so impressed with the AW18 collection and the variety of styles available. I have my eye on a pretty pink backpack and a bright yellow purse to add to my collection next!
