5 simple tips to make your bathroom feel like a Spa

We all live busy lifestyles and one of the best ways to relax is by going to the Spa. I personally love spending an afternoon in a Spa and I’m always searching online for new ones to try! There is something so nice about turning your phone off and getting away from it all, sitting in a peaceful environment whilst being pampered. Heaven. So why not have the same experience at home in your own bathroom!

These are my top 5 tips on how to bring that gorgeous spa feeling into your home.

De-clutter..

This is the first place to start when creating the ultimate relaxing space. It’s a well known fact that being surrounded by clutter can add to you feeling stressed out. So, try to avoid having lots of things being on display. Straw or metal style baskets are great and make brilliant storage ideas for a bathroom.  Arrange a stylish display of the main beauty products that you will be using for an evening of pampering.

Introduce some nature..

Adding some plants or flowers into your bathroom is a really easy and affordable way to add that Spa like touch. This will enhance the peaceful and comfortable feel that you are going for. Try filling a vase with some chic white flowers, or displaying a fresh green plant in a wicker, basket style base. You could even try hanging potted plants on the wall. ASOS have a really cool selection of hanging plants HERE

Update your towels..

It’s time to get rid of any towels that have seen better days and treat yourself to fresh new ones. Indulge yourself in getting fluffy, comforting bath towels and look for the larger sized bath sheets for that luxurious spa feeling! It’s also a nice touch to get hand towels that are in a matching colour or design. If you are feeling extra boujee, add a gorgeous new dressing gown into your bathroom that you can also relax in.

Add calming scents..

Aromatherapy will add that little something extra into your home spa and will boost the relaxing environment. Candles, reed diffusers, soaps and lotions are the easiest ways to set the mood and will all help to add scents into the bathroom. Try fragrances like lavender, jasmine or vanilla which will help to create that calming effect.

Set the lighting..

Avoiding harsh lights is one of the key things in setting the scene for a spa like feel. Think soft glows and mood lighting. You can get bathroom cabinets that have LED lights to soften the lighting or you can have a dimmer light switch installed so you can adjust the lighting to how you want it. This can change the whole atmosphere in the room and can transport you instantly into relaxation mode!

Baby it’s cold outside! The perfect winter coats that you need this season.

The UK is never known for it’s amazing weather, but in the last couple of weeks it has suddenly turned absolutely freezing! So, it’s time to invest in that perfect winter coat to keep us get through the sub-zero Winter temperatures!

Here are my top tips for finding the perfect coat this season.

1. Shop around

Whether you prefer online shopping or actually buying directly from stores, it’s important to have a good look around at what’s available out there first of all. I personally prefer to try clothes on before I buy them as you never really know what you are going to get with online shopping. Plus I like to have my new items ready to wear straight away! However, there are usually a lot of online flash sales which are good to take advantage of and get yourself a bargain. A lot of stores on the high street now allow you to return items you bought online now which is also really handy. Shop around and get a feel for what you like and it will help you to make your final decision.

2. Choose a classic style

Heavily printed or bright colour coats will tend to be a ‘fast fashion’ item and you are bound to get sick if it after a short while. These are not always easy to style a full outfit with either. If you stick to a classic colour coat, you will get so much more use out of it and it will be so much easier to wear on a regular basis.

3. Invest

With certain items it’s better to spend slightly more money to make sure you get a better quality, and coats definitely fall under this category. You will be getting a lot of use out of a coat during the Winter and so if you work it out, the cost per wear will end up being value for money in the long run. Cheaper coats tend to not be lined and are made of a thinner material which is to be avoided. After all, the whole point of a coat is that it actually keeps you warm!

4. Pay attention to the fit

When trying on coats, it’s always a good idea to test them out with a couple of different style tops underneath to get an idea of the fit. Check that it does up easily and that you have room to easily move around. Also consider the practicality of the styles you are looking at. A longer length coat is always stylish but if you drive a lot and are in and out of a car all day, it will not be the most practical option. You also need to be able to move your arms easily. This might sound like a funny thing to mention but I have tried coats online before that fit well in the body but have had crazy sleeve lengths. This links back to my point above about investing in a better quality item to try and avoid this sort of issue.
