Out of all the pastel shades, lavender is one of my favourites. Its a gorgeous cool tone that looks clean and fresh but it’s also a great way to make a bold statement with any outfit. Spring is on it’s way and it’s the perfect transition from cosy winter coats and chunky knitwear moving into lighter materials, soft pretty colours and a fresh new take on our wardrobes. I don’t know about you, but I get so excited when I see the sale items getting smaller in the stores and the ‘new in’ sections starting to take over again with new pieces to get excited about.
Now the sale rails are finally on their way out I have been looking through the latest pieces and lavender tones have been popping up in a lot of places. It’s such a gorgeous colour that suits every skin tone and I’m really looking forward to this colour pallet for Spring!
How to style Lavender pieces
Luckily this is an easy colour to incorporate into an outfit as it works well with other colours. I love to mix this shade with denim as the colours compliment each other beautifully. You can also mix lavender pieces with a crisp white shirt and a pair of black, leather trousers for a stylish ‘office appropriate’ outfit. Or why not go head to toe in a lavender shade suit – which is also ticking off another 2 trends in one go – colour blocking and tailoring.
Adding neutral shades with lavender is the easiest way to style this. Basic whites, creams, black or grey will let the lavender item do all the talking for your look – everyone has neutral basics that they can add into an outfit so you can take on this trend without having to buy a load of new items to try and style with it.
If wearing colour isn’t really your thing, you can incorporate it easily with accessories. Look for handbags, shoes, scarves or hats to add a pop of Lavender in a more classic, understated way.
Another thing that I really like is that it doesn’t matter if you prefer to wear gold or silver jewellery as both work really well with lavenders, lilacs and purple colours. So let’s have a look at the top pieces that I recommend to get onboard with this trend for Spring.
Lavender pieces that you need to pick up now
As always with trends it’s good to be ahead of the game. The stores are just launching all of the new Spring 20 collections and there are a couple of places that have some amazing pieces in this colour pallet that you will want to get your hands on. And other Stories is fast becoming one of my new favourite shopping destinations and they have the best lilac pieces right now, as well as Zara who have also picked up on this being a hit colour of the season.
