Getting Autumn/Winter ready with Glamify Fashion

Autumn is just around the corner and that means one thing – new season fashion! For this week’s post I’m working with Glamify Fashion and checking out their new AW21 collection. They are a UK based online retailer who focus on trend led pieces and in a stylish feminine style.

The fashion savvy among us will already know that when it comes to Autumn/Winter shopping, you need to start looking to buy your coats in August. Even if it’s hot weather and the last thing you want to think about is wearing a coat, it’s the best time to buy one as you will have a much wider selection available. Leaving it to the last minute when the weather gets colder will only leave you disappointed as all the best pieces will have been snapped up already. This is one of my all time top tips with shopping for A/W fashion.

Glamify Fashion currently have a sale on at the moment so this is the perfect time for me to show you my favourite selection of their jackets, shackets and coats to get you ready for the new season!

Eliza cream gilet

Let’s start with what I am wearing in today’s post. This is the Eliza gilet in cream which I will link HERE for you. Straight away I was really impressed with this gilet. The faux fur is lovely and soft the PU leather is excellent quality too. I sized up to a size L as will be wearing this with thicker knitwear when it gets colder. For now, as we transition into the new season, I will wear this with long sleeve t-shirts or lightweight roll necks. This is a layering piece that will make you feel glam and will look great paired with sneakers for a dressed down look or equally as good with boots for a more dressed up style. This gilet is also available in grey, black and camel colour options.

The hero pieces of the range

Glamify Fashion have a great selection of jackets and coats in a variety of colours so there is a lot to choose from. I’ve selected my favourite items from the range that I can see selling out early on and what I predict will be the pieces to snap up quickly. Let’s get into the pieces…

Shackets

A shacket is the most perfect and easy way to layer up a look, whilst still looking chic and put together. I really loved these two shackets in particular. The gorgeous neutral cream tone item which will go with literally every outfit, and the houndstooth one which creates a whole look in itself. So simple and so stylish. Both of these pieces are timeless and can be worn year after year.

Faux Fur

When choosing a faux fur coat, the quality is such an important factor as sometimes the ‘fur’ material can let down the entire look. Going by the faux fur on the gilet I have been wearing, Glamify Fashion already have this covered and have a really nice quality faux fur with their pieces. These three coats were my favourites from the range and they are a mix of both padded and belted styles.

Puffers and padded

If full on faux fur isn’t your thing, then take a look at these puffer coats and padded styles as an alternative. I’m going to be adding this freyah quilted coat (image 1) into my collection. This jacket looks so expensive and I love the balloon sleeves and cinched in waist detail. Duvet coats are going to be huge this season too and let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to feel like they are still wrapped up in bed when they are going out in the freezing UK weather!

Classic styles

If trend led pieces are not your thing, it’s always a great idea to look for classic styles that you know will stand the test of time. I’ve picked out a classic trench, a biker jacket and an aviator style here which are easy to style and wear throughout the whole season.

Check out the Glamify website HERE – as well as their jackets, they have a huge range of clothing including loungewear, denim, dresses, knitwear, footwear and so much more. They even have a children’s clothing range for any of you that have a mini fashionista in the family too!

The UK is never known for it’s amazing weather, but in the last couple of weeks it has suddenly turned absolutely freezing! So, it’s time to invest in that perfect winter coat to keep us get through the sub-zero Winter temperatures!

Here are my top tips for finding the perfect coat this season.

1. Shop around

Whether you prefer online shopping or actually buying directly from stores, it’s important to have a good look around at what’s available out there first of all. I personally prefer to try clothes on before I buy them as you never really know what you are going to get with online shopping. Plus I like to have my new items ready to wear straight away! However, there are usually a lot of online flash sales which are good to take advantage of and get yourself a bargain. A lot of stores on the high street now allow you to return items you bought online now which is also really handy. Shop around and get a feel for what you like and it will help you to make your final decision.

2. Choose a classic style

Heavily printed or bright colour coats will tend to be a ‘fast fashion’ item and you are bound to get sick if it after a short while. These are not always easy to style a full outfit with either. If you stick to a classic colour coat, you will get so much more use out of it and it will be so much easier to wear on a regular basis.

3. Invest

With certain items it’s better to spend slightly more money to make sure you get a better quality, and coats definitely fall under this category. You will be getting a lot of use out of a coat during the Winter and so if you work it out, the cost per wear will end up being value for money in the long run. Cheaper coats tend to not be lined and are made of a thinner material which is to be avoided. After all, the whole point of a coat is that it actually keeps you warm!

4. Pay attention to the fit

When trying on coats, it’s always a good idea to test them out with a couple of different style tops underneath to get an idea of the fit. Check that it does up easily and that you have room to easily move around. Also consider the practicality of the styles you are looking at. A longer length coat is always stylish but if you drive a lot and are in and out of a car all day, it will not be the most practical option. You also need to be able to move your arms easily. This might sound like a funny thing to mention but I have tried coats online before that fit well in the body but have had crazy sleeve lengths. This links back to my point above about investing in a better quality item to try and avoid this sort of issue.
