I Heart Revolution – The latest Glitter eye Palettes

I can never resist an eye shadow pallet and when I came across the new glitter pallets by I Heart Revolution I instantly fell in love with them!! They reminded me of the Polly Pocket toys that I used to have as a child and the inner girlie girl in me just had to try out this collection.

Packaging and shades..

These eye shadow pallets are a good size and the outer cases have gorgeous sparkly particles and little glittery hearts or stars that swirl around the lid as you move them around. These are a ten out of ten for packaging and I haven’t seen anything like this in an eye pallet before.

There are 3 options available in this collection –

Starry Eyed – this has a pretty turquoise case and inside there are 7 dreamy metallic and 2 matte shades. This option includes a mixture of deep blues and greens intertwined with bronze and golds. This is the option that I loved the most in the range.

One True Love – this is a candy pink case which includes 3 gorgeous matte shades and 6 striking shimmers. These are a sparkly mix of golds, rose golds, deep burgundies and popping pinks.

Fortune Seeker – this is a cute lilac case and has 4 wearable matte shades and 5 stunning shimmers. This option includes a warm mix of bronzes, rich burgundies, light browns, burnt copper and pale lavender.

Quality..

I Heart Revolution is a really affordable brand and you can always guarantee a decent price point for their products. For a drug store brand, these eye shadow pallets are really good quality and blend nicely with minimal fall out. The shades in each pallet are really wearable and they work well together to create gorgeous looks for both day and night, so you will get great use out of these. Plus, at £10 per pallet they are a bargain. They remind me of the Huda Beauty obsessions pallets which I featured in my Christmas gift guide HERE although those are double the price of these.

Matching Lipsticks..

To go alongside this beautiful pallet, I also picked up a couple of lipsticks which go perfectly with this range. As I chose the turquoise case option, I decided to get a couple of shades from the mystical mermaid lipstick collection also by I Heart Revolution. This range has two seashell mattes, two glistening metallics and one satin finish. You can use them alone or layer over the top of any lip colour which is great. These lipsticks are in beautiful turquoise packaging with mermaid scales imprinted on the bullet of the lipstick. How stunning are these!

You can purchase any of the products mentioned in this blog post directly from the I Heart Revolution website HERE or at most Superdrug stores throughout the UK.

The most organised make up bag ever by The Flat Lay Co

When I put on my make up in the morning I like to have it all lined up so I can see what I am using. There is nothing worse than having your make up all piled up in a make up bag that you have to rummage through to get each product out. Whenever I go on holiday or away for a weekend break, I always unpack my make up and beauty items first and get them all organised in the bathroom.

I came across the Flay Lay Company on Instagram and fell in love with their make up bags. They are such a simple concept but so handy! When you open it up it sits as a 50cm wide circle shape. Inside is a zipped compartment and there are 8 brush holders.  I like to put eyeliners and lipliners in these as well as brushes. This make up bag has a drawstring pull, so once you have laid out all of your make up items, you simply pull the string and it bunches everything into the sack for you. It’s as easy as that!

All of their make up bags are machine washable and wipe clean which is great. Priced at £19.50 for the larger size or £14.50 for the smaller version and you can purchase these directly from their website HERE

Huda Beauty fragrences

Another Huda product I have to include in this gift guide is the new stunning fragrances. The Huda make up products are such beautiful quality and their fragrances equally do not disappoint. The packaging alone is so elegant. How fabulous will these bottles look displayed on your dressing table or in the bathroom. Ultimate shelfie goals! Here are my top 3 picks from the collection:

KAYALI ELIXIR | 11

KAYALI translates from Arabic to ‘my imagination’ and this fragrance is inspired by the rich heritage of the Middle East. This fragrance is one of the lighter scents in the range, which Huda and Mona Kattan describe as ‘an ultra-addictive scent’.

KAYALI CITRUS | 08

This is the lightest scent in the range, which Huda and Mona Kattan describe as ‘a contemporary twist on innovation.’ A citrus perfume is so nice for the day time or during the Summer months.

KAYALI MUSK | 12

The third fragrance in the KAYALI COLLECTION | 01, MUSK | 12 is the most intense fragrance in the range, which Huda and Mona describe as ‘emanating power and confidence’. This is my personal favourite as I love a strong and long lasting perfume.

Priced at £84 for 100ml, you can purchase these Huda fragrances from the Cult Beauty website HERE

I hope you enjoyed my beauty gift guide. Leave me a comment below if you have tried any of the items listed!

The new metallic sparkle lipsticks by Too Faced

I am a complete magpie and anything sparkly always gets my immediate attention. So, when I discovered the brand new metallic sparkle lipsticks by Too Faced I just had to try them out!

Colour shades

There are 10 shades in the collection ranging from pretty pinks, purples and reds as well as some more daring colours such as blue and vivid purple. I was tempted to go with the gorgeous light pink shade called ‘Marcia Marcia Marcia’ but I chose ‘Miss Thing’, a pretty peachy nude shade instead. These 10 shades are inspired by the original Too faced lipstick bullets but given an updated twist. This also includes 2 new 20th anniversary shades. I’m loving the sassy shade names too:
  • Hoochie – cool brown
  • Bionic – light blue
  • Hot Flash – crimson
  • Marcia Marcia Marcia – pretty baby pink
  • Miss Thing – peachy nude
  • Pixie Stick – vivid purple
  • That Girl – warm chocolate brown
  • Trampula – electric blue
  • TF20 – vivid pink
  • Too too hot – spicy red

Formula

The Too Faced website says this lipstick range is full coverage. I personally found the coverage to be on the lighter side than what I expected after swatching them on my hand.  However, if you layer this up with a couple of coats, you will get a more intense colour which is what I prefer. The end result was a multi-reflective glitter finish with a pretty sparkly sheen.
I love the overall look of this once applied and I was impressed with the creamy formula. You can wear the lipstick by itself, but I found it also looks really nice over the top of a matt lipstick. As always with Too Faced, this range is animal cruelty free which is also a plus point.

Packaging

Each lipstick case is in a sparkly shade that matches the colour inside which I absolutely love. These looked so fabulous lined up together on the makeup counter that it made me want to walk away with all of them! The box packaging is also completely sparkly and the top of the box has a cute heart detail which shows the name of the shade. I really love the packaging of this collection and I love having this in my handbag.

Value for money?

Each lipstick is priced at £18 which is a pretty standard price for premium make up brands. The stunning packaging and the quality of this range definitely justifies this price point. Plus, you will get a lot of use out of this so the cost per wear is really reasonable if you work it out this way.
You can purchase this new collection directly from Too Faced stores or on their website here
You will also find this in department stores that have a Too Faced counter.

The new ‘Oh Sweetie’ lipgloss collection by Mac

Image: Pinterest

I always love the special collections by Mac cosmetics, whether it’s a cool, quirky theme or if it’s a collaboration with a celebrity. In the past Mac have worked with a range of celebs on collections from Mariah Carey, to Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Ariana Grande just to name a few.

Any new Mac collection usually sells out fast so you have to be pretty quick if you have a particular item that you have your eyes on before missing out! There are always a few favourites that I will buy from these collections and so when I saw the latest ‘Oh Sweetie’ lipgloss range I was so excited to try them and fell in love with pretty much every shade! This was not an easy decision to choose a favourite shade!

Shade range

There are 12 shades to choose from in the UK stores and online, but the collection was created with 16 shades so it might be that some have sold out already or that those shades were not available for the UK market. They all smell absolutely gorgeous and good enough to eat with their individual sweet scents.

I love the names of the shades too which are names of delicious desserts and sweet treats. These really are so cute and great for anyone with a sweet tooth! You have the choice of coconut macaroon, sugar cookies, raspberry pavlova, raspberry cream, gumdrop, strawberry torte, purple panna cotta, death by chocolate, caramel sugar, creamy peach pie, strawberry mouse or banana muffins.  I chose the Strawberry moose shade and it smells incredible.

Formula

I really like the texture of this as they are not like the usual Mac style lipgloss that we are all used to using. These are more like a creamy mouse formula with a frosted iridescent pigment. Super pretty, feminine and flattering. I also found that these were fairly long lasting without being sticky. There is nothing worse than over sticky lipgloss that you end up getting your hair permanently getting stuck in it! It did take a few minutes to dry and settle down after I applied it but it didn’t feeling drying on the lips in the slightest.

The advertising campaigns for this range have been so eye-catching and fun, but then all Mac special collections tend to be really slick and on trend.

The ‘Oh Sweetie’ range is available in Mac stores now or online here and are priced at £15.50 each. I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this new range. Have you tried this range yet? If you have let me know in the comments what shade is your favourite!

The lipstick range that you’ll fall in love with

Tarte cosmetics is a brand that has been on my radar for a while but I haven’t got round to trying it until now. I watched an unboxing video on YouTube recently where someone was testing out a huge set of all the new lipstick shades that were new on the market. It was the most fabulous collection I think I have ever seen and I was mesmerised watching it so decided that I needed to test this brand out for myself!

As this is an American brand, there are not any beauty counters available in UK stores yet so the options we have is to either buy direct from Tarte online, but face quite hefty shipping charges, or we can buy from QVC as they carry a selection of the products. I’ve said it before, but the thing I love about QVC is that you can test out products for 30 days and if you are really not happy with what you have bought, you can send it back for a full refund which is so amazing, especially with beauty products which are usually always non returnable once opened.

I chose one of the colour splash lipsticks from the ‘Colour of the Sea’ range and in the colour Colada which is a nude light brown shade. The packaging was really pretty and as soon as I opened it I could wait to test it out. I was surprised at how creamy and luxurious it felt and it has a real moisturising texture to it without being oily. I matched a lip liner which I already owned from Barry M in the shade 24 carat which went perfectly with this particular shade. The colour was very pigmented and was long lasting which was great as there is nothing more disappointing than a lipstick that wears off the moment you step out the door or have a sip of a drink.

Something else to mention is that this is a vegan friendly product and contain a blend of algae and marine flower extracts that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while smoothing and softening skin. It contains shea butter which helps to retain elasticity of the skin.

For £18 I feel like this was really worth the money purely for the quality, the depth of the colour and how long lasting it was so I will definitely be purchasing more of these. There are 24 shades to choose from so the only thing now is to work out which colours to try next!
